Rabbi Jennifer Feldman
Rabbi Jennifer Feldman enriches our community with spirituality, warmth,
a love of song and great enthusiasm for Jewish learning. She is
instrumental in community-building and engages congregants of diverse
ages and circumstances. Her wisdom and compassion enhance our worship
services, holiday programs and life cycle events.

Rabbi Jen received her undergraduate degree in sociology from Wesleyan
University. Prior to her rabbinic training, she spent two years working
and studying in Japan and several years working for the United Way in
South Carolina. A graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College,
she has served as the rabbi of a small congregation in the Virgin
Islands and as an assistant rabbi in a large congregation in
Philadelphia. Rabbi Jen joined us in April, 2002. She lives in Chapel
Hill with her husband, Ben Landman, and their son Solomon.

Melissa, Executive Director
Since February, 2006, Melissa has been serving as the first
executive director of the Kehillah. She works with membership, adult
education, finances and budgeting, fundraising programs, social action,
communication, and other adult programming. During the six years prior to her current position, Melissa served
initially as the Kehillah’s Religious School Director and more recently
as the Director of Education. During that same period, Melissa started
Tot Shabbat services; coordinated the founding of the Kehillah Jewish
Preschool; began No’ar Hadash, the Kehillah’s first youth group; started
Sunday Tefillah for Religious School; and implemented several new
holiday educational programs.
Melissa has also worked as Program Director and Social Worker at Jewish
Family Service of Durham-Chapel Hill; Social Worker in the Geriatric
Service at UNC Hospitals; and Foster Care Social Worker at Youth
Services, Inc. in Philadelphia.

Marla,
Director of Religious School
Marla joined our staff in February, 2006. She directs the
religious school, coordinates B’nei Mitzvah and organizes family and
holiday programming geared towards children. Marla comes to the Kehillah
with enthusiasm, a strong Jewish educational background and experience
working in many Jewish communities. She has served as the
Education/Deputy Director of the Touro Synagogue Foundation in Rhode
Island; Executive Director of the Rhode Island Holocaust Memorial
Museum/Tolerance Center; and Regional Coordinator of Steven Spielberg's
Shoah Foundation.

Megan,
Director, Kehillah
Jewish Preschool
Megan
has over 10 years of experience working in Early Childhood.
She received two bachelor degrees from Appalachian State University; a
BS in Child Development and a BA in Psychology with a minor in
Business. During her career, she has worked in a variety of roles
including as a classroom teacher, a Quality Enhancement Specialist and
then Program Coordinator for Wake County SmartStart, as well as a
Program Monitor for The North Carolina Partnership for Children. She
brings with her a broad base of knowledge in child development,
developmentally appropriate practices, and effective learning
environments for young children.

Audrey, Administrator
Audrey has been the Administrator of the Kehillah since June,
2003. When members and visitors contact the Kehillah, Audrey is often
the first contact. She is warm, friendly and always available to show
visitors around the Kehillah and answer questions. Before joining the
Kehillah staff, Audrey was Campaign Associate of the Greater Federation
of Charlotte and Program Director at Hillel at the University of
Florida.
