Shabbat Shira, a monthly
musical service, brings the Kehillah community
together for a dynamic Shabbat morning
celebration that
features a
song-filled service with guitar, drums, dancing,
and a big dose of ruach (spirit).
An offshoot of the Kehillah’s popular Shabbat
Shira Havdalah program, Shabbat Shira provides a
gateway to spirituality through song.
Music
includes traditional and contemporary artists,
such as Shlomo Carlebach, Rick Recht, and
various Reconstructionist musicians.
Additional
service components include fewer aliyot and
contemporary readings.
The service is held on Saturday mornings from
9:45 - 11:45 am in the Kehillah’s Chapel Emanu-El.
It is followed by a community Kiddush lunch,
which provides a great opportunity for
connections, shmoozing, and great food!
