The Kehillah encourages its members to become active on one or more committees.
It is only with assistance and support from our lay leaders that we are able to
provide quality programming for the Kehillah.
Adult Education: plans and implements a docket of
adult education programs, including classes on basic Jewish knowledge and
special interest programs
Caring: provides
assistance to families facing illness, care-giving responsibilities and/or the
birth of a child by providing food, cards and other services as needed. Click

Chevra Kadisha: takes care of the body after death and before burial
by ensuring that the body is cleaned and wrapped properly and that someone is
able to be with the body during this time period
Cemetery: forms policies around burial and for the
planning of the cemetery grounds
Communications: coordinates the Kehillah newsletter
and other publicity, such as the web site and the Kehillah brochure
Community Advocacy: coordinates the political action activities for the Kehillah and engages
Kehillah
members in the local and national community to effect positive change
Facilities: makes and carries out plans that
pertain to the physical Kehillah building and grounds
Fundraising: helps
determine the fundraising needs of the Congregation and then plans and
implements a calendar of fundraising events
Membership: reaches out to prospective members, welcomes new members, helps connect
members to each other; plans community social events to welcome
newcomers, and matches Kehillah members in chavurot (small friendship
groups)
Preschool: forms policies
related to the school, makes major curriculum decisions, and provides support
and assistance to the director of the school
Religious School: forms policies related to the school, makes major curriculum decisions, and
provides support and assistance to the director of the school.
Ritual: arranges for
Shabbat, festival services and Yarzheit minyanim; help guide the
Kehillah through ritual-related community processes; and
form a High Holy Days Subcommittee each year to plan and
implement High Holy Day services.
Social Action: coordinates the social action
activities for the Kehillah; plans social action-related programming; and
engages the community in mitzvah opportunities
