Reading and
discussion seminar led by Joseph Gindi, UNC Ph.D. student in Religious Studies.
You are invited to join other community members, activists, and students to
explore how different approaches to Torah, race, God, sexuality,
halacha
(Jewish law), class, and ritual can open up possibilities for living our
values. You are invited to sign up for both sessions or just one.

can we build rituals, theologies, and communities that support a meaningful and
just life? What is the place of Torah and

10-11:30 a.m. Many of us feel a deep connection between our Jewish identities,
the other components of our identities, our values, and our political
commitments, yet they do not always cohere. What will it take to integrate the
various components of our identity? How do our identities and social positions
impact our Judaism and our politics? $54 members/ $72 non-members/ $36 students

The Power & Beauty of Shabbat.
Sun., Oct. 31, Nov.
7, Nov. 21, Jan. 9, & Jan. 30, 10-11:30 a.m. Rabbi Jen Feldman will lead a
series of five engaging study and discussion sessions on the sources, meaning,
and spiritual depth of Shabbat practice. Participants will provide crucial input
that will help shape an updated Shabbat practice policy for the Kehillah. Open
to all!
Touchstones of Judaism.
Monthly daytime 1.5-hour class with 18 sessions. Taught by Rabbi
Jen. This comprehensive course will provide a foundation for building a rich,
meaningful Jewish life. Through text study, film, journaling, discussion, and
experiential learning, we'll explore Jewish spirituality, history, belief, and
practice. Open to those exploring conversion with Rabbi Jen and all who want to
enrich their Jewish knowledge.
