In order to make synagogue activities more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive, the Kehillah has chosen to begin a Twenties/Thirties chavurah– a group who decide to join together to socialize, learn, and celebrate Jewish life together. The Kehillah also offers reduced membership rates for people under 30 and special first year rates to all people in the Twenties/Thirties Group. Havdallah and Falafel Making. Sat., Oct. 30.,  7 p.m. End Shabbat with wine, song, candles, and falafel-making (and eating). $6/person. Location: home of Dina Schiff.

 

Latke Contest. Fri., Dec. 3, 8 p.m. Chapel Hill Kehillah Education Wing.  Think you make the best latkes? Bring them over for a Chanukah-themed Shabbat pot luck. Best latkes win a prize. Don’t have time to make latkes? Pick up doughnuts or  another dairy dish to share. Feel free to come at 7 p.m. for a spiritual Shabbat evening service before the latke contest!
