In order to make synagogue activities more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive, the Kehillah has chosen to begin a Twenties/Thirties chavurah– a group who decide to join together to socialize, learn, and celebrate Jewish life together. The Kehillah also offers reduced membership rates for people under 30 and special first year rates to all people in the Twenties/Thirties Group. Spring 2010 Events:

Kehillah Choice Dinners. Sat., Feb. 6. 6 p.m. Enjoy an Italian feast with good wine and company at this kick-off event! $10/person. Location: home of Dina Schiff.

 

4th Annual Triangle Area Grad & Young Professional Purim Party: A Masquerade Ball. Sat., Feb. 20. 8 p.m. Join the Triangle Area Jewish Community for our fourth annual Purim Party: A Masquerade Ball. Come with old friends and make new ones as we enjoy one of the most festive Jewish holidays in style! Please bring a canned good to support the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. Dress in festive attire! Masks strongly recommended! This event, planned by Kesher, is a great way to meet other twenties and thirties from all over the Triangle. Co-sponsored by the Kehillah. Location: West End Wine Bar, 601 W. Main Street, Durham.

 

Shabbat Potluck. Fri., Mar. 19, 7 p.m. Enjoy spiritual Shabbat evening services; then stay for a twenties/thirties potluck  dinner! Please bring a vegetarian or  dairy dish to share.

 

Music at Southern Village. Sun., May 16, 7 p.m. Enjoy the nice weather with good music. More info to follow.
